I've spent my entire career in transportation. I started in 1989 at a heavy-duty truck dealership in Chicago, learning the equipment side of the business from the ground up. By 1992 I was working at Howard Delivery Service, my family's trucking company, where I spent the next nine years managing operations across four cities — Chicago, Detroit, Martinsburg, and Cincinnati.

At Howard, I oversaw 225 drivers and handled everything that keeps a trucking operation running: routing, dispatching, HR, payroll, Teamsters union negotiations, and OS&D claims. I ended that chapter as Terminal Manager in Cincinnati, which gave me a thorough understanding of large-scale freight operations and what shippers actually need from the people moving their goods.

From 2001 to 2008, I managed route drivers and international shipments at DHL. That experience taught me the other side of logistics — small package delivery, cross-border operations, and how large corporations handle supply chains. It also showed me what I didn't want to build: an operation where customers are just account numbers.

I founded MMTF Logistics in 2006 because I believed freight brokerage could be more straightforward than what the industry was offering. Most brokers charge a percentage of the load — the bigger your shipment, the more they make, regardless of how much work the load actually requires. I chose a flat rate instead. Our broker fee is $93.75 per shipment. It doesn't change based on the size of the load or what the market is doing that week.

Twenty years later, MMTF is still a one-owner operation. When you call, you're talking to us directly. We handle truckload, LTL, flatbed, intermodal rail, and specialty freight across the US and Canada. We screen every carrier, track every shipment, and follow through on delivery confirmation. That's the job, and we do it well.
